Christina Aviles, 11th-grader at Dunkirk High School, was recently honored as Student of the Month by the Rotary Club of Dunkirk. The daughter of Valerie and Francisco Aviles, Christina is involved in SADD, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Upward Bound with Fredonia State, Student Council. She has also performed in the school's productions of "Bugsy Malone," "Honk," "Willy Wonka," "Beauty and the Beast," "Disco Inferno" and "The Wizard of Oz." She is also active in Christian Youth Organization, French Club, and the tennis team. She sings alto in select chorus and mixed chorus, and plays saxophone in concert band and jazz ensemble. Future plans include the performing arts and perhaps photography. The Rotary Club of Dunkirk meets Tuesdays at Shorewood Country Club beginning at 12:15 p.m.
