Arrests made in Chautauqua Institution thefts

May 13, 2012
The OBSERVER

In December and January, the Chautauqua Institution Police Department received complaints of eight burglaries to residences inside the grounds of Chautauqua Institution. During the course of the investigations the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, the Jamestown Police Department and the Chautauqua County Forensic Investigation Team assisted Chautauqua Sheriff's with processing the many crime scenes. Two subjects were developed as suspects, William Sloan, 22, of Sherman, and Stephanie Textor, 23, of Mayville. After a lengthy investigation both were arrested on May 7 on warrants issued by Judge Ward of the Chautauqua County Court, after grand jury indictment on four counts of second-degree burglary. The two subjects were both arrested at their residences without incident and were remanded to the Custody of the Chautauqua County Jail.
