Arrests made in Chautauqua Institution thefts

In December and January, the Chautauqua Institution Police Department received complaints of eight burglaries to residences inside the grounds of Chautauqua Institution. During the course of the investigations the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, the Jamestown Police Department and the Chautauqua County Forensic Investigation Team assisted Chautauqua Sheriff's with processing the many crime scenes. Two subjects were developed as suspects, William Sloan, 22, of Sherman, and Stephanie Textor, 23, of Mayville. After a lengthy investigation both were arrested on May 7 on warrants issued by Judge Ward of the Chautauqua County Court, after grand jury indictment on four counts of second-degree burglary. The two subjects were both arrested at their residences without incident and were remanded to the Custody of the Chautauqua County Jail.

CHAUTAUQUA A Dewittville man has been jailed on several charges after violating an order of protection in the town of Chautauqua.

On May 9 around 10 p.m. deputies arrested Gregory Milne, 54, of Dewittville on an arrest warrant issued from the Town of Chautauqua Court. It is alleged that earlier that day around 8 p.m., Milne entered a home unlawfully and in which the owner had an order of protection against Milne. Milne was located and taken into custody without incident. Milne is charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree criminal contempt. Milne was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
