Genealogical Society meets today in Fredonia
The Chautauqua County Genealogical Society meets today in the Steele Room of the Barker Library in Fredonia. If there is a Wifi connection, Jack Erickson will show what's available on Heritage Quest. Three-part Internet basics course in Silver Creek starting today
Join instructor Bob Geffert for the three-part course Internet Basics at the Anderson-Lee Library in Silver Creek. Each part will be held from 1 to 2 p.m.
Part one is today and is an explanation of all parts of the Internet browser and a brief explanation of computer viruses. Part two is May 22, when participants will learn to use search directories, engines and meta-search engines. Part three on May 29 will be a review.
Prerequisite skills are basic use of computer mouse and keyboard.

Gas prices down
Average retail gasoline prices in New York have fallen 4.3 cents per gallon this past week, averaging $3.97/g Sunday. This compares with the national average which fell 3.3 cents last week to $3.73/g.
Crafters sought for Fly-In event on July 8
The Dunkirk Rotary Club seeks crafters and vendors interested in being part of its annual Fly-In Breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon July 8 at the Dunkirk Airport. The club welcomes crafters who provides handmade crafts, fine art, gourmet food products. A limited number of indoor spaces will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Crafter booth spaces are $25 for a single 10- by 10-foot space or a double space for $40.

Preschool Story Hour Friday in Brocton

The Sinclairville Free Library announces that the annual plant sale will be held on Saturday in front of the library from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Ways and Means group is commended for supporting the library with this fundraising event. All proceeds benefit the library.
