The replica 16th Century sailing ship Sea Lion, stripped of her masts and top hamper, is shown hanging in slings suspended from a 100-ton crane at the Bemus Point ferry landing on Chautauqua Lake, ready to be moved to her new base. The vessel is to be carried by truck to Barcelona, where she will have her bottom painted before re-launching. She will then be towed to Dunkirk for a refit before going on to Buffalo and her eventual destination of the New York Harbor for the Columbus voyage quincentennial on July 4.
