Two from county

complete Recruit Firefighter Training

Thirty-one probationary career and volunteer firefighters graduated from the Recruit Firefighter Training (RFFT) Program Thursday at the State Office of Fire Prevention and Control's Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls.

The students come from 19 fire departments and comprise the Academy's 63rd RFFT class. Included are Nicholas V. Amatuzzo and Ryan J. Waid of the Jamestown Fire Department.

The RFFT class is 11 weeks long and includes more than 500 hours of intense training which meets and exceeds the provisions of the New York State standard for career probationary and non-permanent firefighters. Grad-uates of the program also receive national certification in Firefighter I, Fire-fighter II and Hazardous Materials Operations.

Attic and Seller Days approaching

The Fredonia Chamber notes that Attic & Seller Days are coming up on June 1, 2 and 3. Please register your sale at the Book Nook in the D&F Plaza no later than Tuesday at noon.

Safe boating class Sunday

The first safe boating class of the season will be held Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and Monday at 5:30 pm. This is a 2-day course. The Safe Boating Course is an 8-hour class and meets all the requirements for the New York State Safe Boating Program. Class is held at Chautauqua Marina, 104 W. Lake Road, Mayville. You must pre register for class, call 753-0409, email boatsafety@aol.com or go to www.ChautauquaMarina.com.

There will be three more classes held during the season, dates are

June 24 - 9:30 a.m. (1-day class)

July 15 - 9:30 a.m. (1-day class)

Aug. 3 - 5 to 8:30 p.m. and Aug. 4 - 8:30 a.m. to 1 pm (2-day class)

Class is for adults and children ages 10 and up. Course fee $39 plus $5 for materials.

Dunkirk Free Library board meets Tuesday

The Dunkirk Free Library Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the library meeting room. Board meetings are open to the public.

Crafters sought

for Fly-In event

The Dunkirk Rotary Club seeks crafters and vendors interested in being part of its annual Fly-In Breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon July 8 at the Dunkirk Airport. The club welcomes crafters who provides handmade crafts, fine art, gourmet food products. A limited number of indoor spaces will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Crafter booth spaces are $25 for a single 10- by 10-foot space or you may purchase a double space for $40.

Sinclairville Library board meets Monday
