LAONA Firefighters made quick work of a blaze Thursday in Laona at 3794 Webster Road in Apartment C. The fire was reported at 1:04 p.m. and extinguished some 30 minutes later. No injuries were reported in the fire, which was fought by 27 firefighters from Fredonia with additional manpower from the city of Dunkirk. The fire was stopped in the rear kitchen area. The Red Cross is assisting three families affected by the results of the fire. Alstar EMS also responded to the scene.
