BROCTON - The Brocton Teachers' Association announces its selections for Student of the Month for April.
The middle school honoree is seventh-grader Molly Kucharski, daughter of Mike and Jackie Kucharski of Brocton. Molly is very active in music and drama. She has been a dancer for Tap 'n Toes Performing Arts for the past 10 years, clarinet player for the Brocton band, singer in the Brocton chorus, a member of the Brocton Drama Club and she takes piano lessons. In addition, she was also on the yearbook staff and a high honor roll student. Molly is a member of the Tri-Church Parish in Brocton. In her spare time, Molly enjoys walking in the woods with her dog, Buster. Her favorite subjects are math and science. In the future, Molly plans to attend college.
The high school honoree is junior Derrick Montgomery, son of Marie Montgomery of Portland. Derrick enjoys playing sports. For Brocton he has been a member of the soccer and basketball teams. Outside of school, Derrick enjoys playing basketball, soccer and swimming. Derrick also enjoys spending time with his family and listening to music. He is an honor roll student and plans to join the United State Air Force upon graduation. His goal is to become a military police officer.
