Editor, OBSERVER:
"We the people" had a say in decision making at one time. It hardly seems this way anymore. We had heroes to look up to, people we believed in and honored as our voices in government. Pride has been replaced by petroleum companies, stock markets, commodities, insurance companies, bands and etc. In another word, greed. Is that what our founding fathers had in mind?
Candidates profess their eligibility through the media with twisted relevance, competing for your vote. Each one who accepts your support is gambling with your money. You've all heard that money can't buy happiness.
Why would you contribute to campaigns that are also funded by the same corporations tapping into your pocket?
Do you actually believe that these major candidates who receive millions in corporate dollars come with "no strings attached" or are you naive?
Where are heroes when we need them? Big business won't allow us to have one. If we did, we would get our pride back and shake the "control" levied against us. We need leaders not pawns. To have to choose "the lesser of two evils" is not the choice I wish for.
