SHERIDAN - About 100 motorcyclists and passengers gathered at the Lake Shore Marine Corps Club for the third annual Sons of Liberty NY bike blessing on Saturday.
Registration started at 10:30 a.m. and the group, escorted by three state troopers on bikes and riding out in order, left for the Angola VFW at about noon.
Before leaving, Trooper Niezgada explained that the troopers would be actually shutting down intersections to keep the group safe.

"Stay in formation, and any 3 wheelers should be inside the fog line," he said. He also asked that everyone wear a helmet.
After visiting the Angola VFW, the next stop was the Gowanda VFW before the group returned to the Lake Shore Marine Corps Club about at 3:30 p.m. for music by local classic rock band Mojo Limbo, food, 50/50 and silent auctions.
The Sons of Liberty NY Riding Club was founded to promote the enjoyment of owning and riding motorcycles. It is a military support motorcycle riding club consisting of military veterans, active duty, reservists and military supporters. Its mission is to support past, present and future military and veteran organizations along with the communities they live in.

Junior Ortiz, president of group, said, “This is our third year. We are interested in helping veterans, and we donate proceeds from our ride to other organizations. One organization we are planning to donate to is the R.O. Foundation.”
