Youth Baseball

Fredonia Wright League

Youth Council 10, DFT Communications 6 - Youth Council scored seven runs in the first inning and went on to defeat DFT Communications. Trey Swartz had a three-run home run and a single to lead Youth Council. Noah Fleckenstein had three hits and one RBI while Jimmy Rush had two hits and one RBI. Nolan Mages added two hits. Brayden Myers and Cody Decker each had RBI singles. Swartz and Fleckenstein combined to strike out 14 and allowed four hits.

FHS?alum King honored for his work on the mound

Fredonia alum Corey King was named a Liberty League Honorable Mention recipient after compiling a 2-4 record over nine appearances for the University of Rochester baseball team. King finished with an earned-run average of 2.47 while striking out 27 and walking 23. King limited opponents to a .250 batting average over 43 2/3 innings of work.

For DFT Communications, Andrew Conti had an run-scoring single, a triple and scored two runs. Jake Davis had an RBI single and Eli McKelvey had a single. Reid Tarnowski and Brendan Plaister combined to strike out nine batters.

Firemen 9, Pucci's 7 - A late rally propelled Fireman past Pucci's in a close game, as Lucas Green and Joe Gullo led the way on offense.

Derrick Walters, Dawson Rafan, Tyler Cain, Nico Pucci and Jason Genovese all hit safely for Pucci's.

Lucas Green shared mound duties with his brother Jake Green and Josh Johnson, combining to strike out 11. Walters, Pucci, Rafan and Genovese pitched well in defeat, fanning eight.

Hart Development 7, Moose 5 - Lucas Voss led the Hart offense with a pair of hits, including a triple, while also scoring three runs. Chris Buchanan struck out 10 in picking up the win. Tyler Cloos pitched well in relief.

Kevin Siracuse had two hits in the loss for Moose while Matt Tintsman doubled and Nathan Shuart reached safely. Jacob Tarnowski suffered the loss while Siracuse pitched in relief.

Dunkirk Little League

Minor League Division

Dom Polski Club 1, Moose Club 0 - Hitters for Dom Polski were Donovan Lockett (3 for 3, two doubles), Nathan Pakulski (2 for 3) and Steven Zentz, Adam Fred, Matthew Levan, Champ Texidor and Ontario Endress each added a hit.

Hitters for Moose were Teddy Roberts, Jeffrey Jones and Marcel Carter. Daniel Edwards played good defense for the Moose.

Dunkirk Little League

T-Ball Division

Fire fighters vs Moniuszko Club - For the fire fighters, hits came from Ronnie Harmon, Donnie Jackson and Alex Luczkowiak. Great defense was played by Lauryn McCracken

For Moniuszko Club, hits were provided by Jordan Carmona, Issiah Ruiz and Kyle Augustin. Great defense was played by Brandon Drummond.

Fire Fighters vs Conservation Club - For the Fire Fighters, Jayne Gavin, Nathaniel Gavin and Zachary Zentz all had hits while great defense was played by Nathan Carlson.

For the Conservation Club, hits were provided by Zimear Young, Nathan Keefe and Matthew Dunn. Great defense was played by Starasia Levans.

Youth Softball

Girls Parochial League

St. Vincent's 2, Northern Chautauqua Catholic 1 - The Lady Monarchs lost a hard-fought title-game matchup against St. Vincent's, 2-1.

Hannah Cybart and Quinn Bankoski each had two hits to pace NCCS's offense. Bankoski had the lone RBI and was the defensive standout. Cybart was the tough-luck losing pitcher, striking out 13 while allowing only two hits.

Adult Baseball

Men's Senior Baseball

Stericycle A's 7, Yankees 4 - The A's plated three runs in the top of the ninth inning to back winning pitcher Doug Baker, who combined with Mike Korzeniewski to scatter 11 hits while striking out 11.

Steve Keyser had the game-winning hit, plating Matt Grace. Norm Smith led the A's with three hits. Mark Zinni took the loss in relief of Dylan Bennett, who pitched eight strong innings.
