Telling your story on why you think Dunkirk is special could get you a prize.
Starting Friday, it will be Dunkirk Pride Month at the Dunkirk Free Library. As part of the month, the library is having a "Why I love Dunkirk" contest. According to Janice Dekoff, library director, the event is an opportunity for residents to brag about the place they call home.
"We love Dunkirk and we want to know why you do too! The rules are simple," she said. "Tell us why you love Dunkirk and be entered to win 5 great prizes! Write a note, draw a picture, or send an e-mail telling us your favorite things about Dunkirk, a great memory, anything you want."
All entries must include your name and telephone number and can be submitted at the library, on email - whyilovedunkirk@gmail.com, at the Web site www.cclslib.org/dunkirk or or by mail at 536 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY 14048.
All entries must be received by June 15.
So share your thoughts - and your love of Dunkirk - with the library.
