The Million T-shirt March Against Bullying comes to CVCS

June 3, 2012
The OBSERVER

On May 17, the entire Cassadaga Valley Central School District participated in the nationwide anti-bullying rally, The Million T-shirt March Against Bullying. Students throughout the school were able to purchase anti-bullying T-shirts with proceeds benefiting anti-bullying efforts across the United States. School districts across the nation could participate in this effort to send a strong anti-bullying message and show student and school solidarity.

This was also an attempt to set a Guinness World Record of "the most people wearing the same shirt on the same day." More than 500 T-shirts were purchased and worn throughout the halls of Cassadaga Valley.

The day concluded with an evening parent/community information night on the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program that the school will be instituting in the fall. The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program is one of the most widely researched programs available with more than 35 years of scientific study and implementation worldwide.
