Twenty years ago - 1992

Among the students receiving awards from the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the State University of New York at Buffalo recently was Mark Swetz of Collins. He received the American Academy of Family Physicians President's Award for Excellence in Family Practice.

Thirty years ago 1982

Brocton Central School Superintendent Thomas K. Sciarrino has announced he will be retiring effective July 1, 1983. At this time, he will have completed 31 years in education, 21 of which were spent at Brocton, including 14 as superintendent. Mr. Sciarrino was appointed elementary principal in 1969 before assuming his present post as superintendent.

Forty years ago - 1972

The Park Shoe Store at the D&F Plaza has been sold by Philip Pelletter of Dunkirk to the Normal Shoe Company of Auburn. The name of the store and all store personnel and policies will remain the same.

Fifty years ago - 1962

Ethelbert H. Jordan of 48 Pearl St., Forestville has been appointed district deputy grand master of Chautauqua District, it was announced by the grand master of the Grand Lodge of Masons of the state of New York.
