SOUTH DAYTON - Marjorie I. Szymanski, 86, of Cottage Road, South Dayton, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk, following a short illness.
She was born in the Town of Dayton, on September 27, 1925, the daughter of the late Orson and Bertha (Volk) Ruckh.
She was a graduate of the former South Dayton High School and worked as an Office Manager for the former Curtis & Burns of South Dayton and continued working for the former Comstock Michigan Fruit of South Dayton, for a total of 45 years. Mrs. Szymanski loved to cook & bake, enjoyed flowers & gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, August "Gus" Szymanski of South Dayton, whom she married on June 24, 1950, in the form-er St. John Fisher RC Church, South Dayton; a son, Dennis (Janet) Szymanski of Fredonia; and two sisters, Myrtle Warren of Dunkirk and Helen Szymanski of South Dayton. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren Amber (Kevin) Szymanski Powell & Trevor Szymanski; 3 great-grandchildren Hope, Joshua & Hannah Powell; and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by 3 brothers Vernon, Donald & Robert Ruckh and by a sister Dorothy Farnham.
There will be no visitation observed. Private services will be at the convenience of the family.
