Babysitting clinic set for June 16
JAMESTOWN - The Jamestown YMCA announces an upcoming date for the next YMCA babysitting clinic for boys and girls, ages 11-16.
The clinic will be held Saturday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jamestown YMCA. The clinic will instruct participants about the responsibilities involved in caring for younger children including child development, safety, emergency response, and more.
The clinic is taught by experienced instructors who have knowledge in child development, health and overall care of children. Participants should bring a brown bag lunch. Space is limited.

Corps awards contract for fish passage project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District has awarded a $274,930 construction contract to Stock Enterprises LTD of Cheektowaga for the Chautauqua Creek Great Lakes Fishery and Ecosystem Restoration (GLFER) Project. Construction of the project which will begin this month, includes fish passage and dam removal measures at the Chautauqua Creek dams to allow fish access to high quality spawning areas in upper Chautauqua Creek, and to restore fishery populations.
The purpose of the GLFER program is to provide non-federal partners with planning, engineering, and construction support in the development of fishery and ecosystem restoration projects

Career enrichment: Barrier Precautions, 1-4 p.m., July 18 ($30).
Personal enrichment: Traffic Survival, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., July 21 or Aug. 18 ($35).

Brocton School PTSA to meet
BROCTON - Brocton School Parent Teacher Student Association will hold its annual year-end meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. in the elementary school library.
The purpose of this meeting is the election of officers and to plan the events PTSA will provide in the next school year.
