City tent company vandalized Friday

June 10, 2012
The OBSERVER

Authorities say vandals struck G & E Tents, Tables and Chairs on Lake Shore Drive Friday night.

Owner Bob Bankoski said 20 tires were slashed on two cube vans and two cargo trailers and all of the windshields were smashed.

"We prepped (the trucks) around 6 o'clock last night, and came in about quater to eight this morning and found this. We had tents to set up at the pier for Wreck and Roll and Relay for Life," Bankoski said. "We are trying to do something good in the community and we have to deal with this."

Currently, it is believed the damage was isolated to the G & E Tent vans, but a spokesperson for the Dunkirk Police Department said it's possible there may be other incidents in the area which have not yet been reported. The incident is still under investigation, with no named suspects.

Fredonia Police Department

Jose M. Roldan, Jr., 22, of Jamestown was charged with an arrest warrant on June 1. He was taken into custody by Jamestown Police Department on a traffic stop and turned over to Fredonia Police. He was released on $100 bail.

Nicholas A. Perrello, 24, of Central Avenue was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, having no inspection and no registration on June 3. He was observed operating a vehicle with no inspection on West Main Street at 8:32 p.m. It was found his license was suspended. He was released on his own recognizance.

Justin K. Szary, 27, of Jay Street, Dunkirk was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny on an arrest warrant. Szary allegedly used a credit card belonging to his father which he did not have permission to use in May. He was held at Fredonia Police.

At 8:05 a.m. police received a complaint of individuals smoking marijuana in a vehicle on Day Street. Police could smell an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. DeJesus claimed he had been smoking when police asked. He was released on an appearance ticket.
