WESTFIELD - The Chautauqua County Sheriff's office is investigating a death that occurred at Brookside Beach Campground on Route 5 early Sunday morning. The initial investigation shows that a camper fell over a cliff, about 40 feet, to a beach area of Lake Erie. An autopsy on the victim is scheduled to take place at Erie County Medical Center.
The name of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin. The investigation is continuing.
