Brocton man facing drug charges
On Wednesday, a Brocton man was charged with drug offenses after an investigation by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force (STRDT).
Around 5:15 p.m. members of the STRDT and the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office located and arrested Ryan M. Falco, 28, of Brocton, at a residence on Van Buren Road in the Town of Pomfret. A warrant had been issued for Falco after he was indicted by a secret Chautauqua County Grand Jury.
Falco is charged with multiple counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. It is alleged by the members of the STRDT that Falco sold quantities of pharmaceuticals to agents of the police at locations within the City of Dunkirk. This investigation has been ongoing for several months. Falco was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail pending his arraignment before Judge John Ward in the Chautauqua County Court.
Authorities continue to ask members of the public to contact either the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force or local police regarding any suspected narcotics related activity.

Richard J. Alberts, 62, of Angola, pleaded guilty to a property maintenance violation and was fined $25.
Derek J. Carlson, 21, of Pennsylvania, was arraigned for aggravated unlicensed operation and returns to court Aug. 1.
Matthew Gritzke, 22, of Lackawanna, pleaded guilty to open container and was fined $25.
Dennis M. Moquin Jr., 40, of Buffalo Street, Silver Creek, pleaded guilty to dog at large and was fined $25.
Carol Myers, Oak Street, Silver Creek, pleaded guilty to violating the storage of motor vehicle law and was fined $25.
Jackeline Reyes-Ortiz, 24, of Dunkirk, was arraigned for suspended registration. She returns to court Aug. 1.
Zackary A. Scott, 25, of Forestville, was arraigned for aggravated unlicensed operation. He returns to court Aug. 1.
Matthew R. Thompson, 24, of Dunkirk, pleaded guilty to open container and was fined $25.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office
GERRY On Wednesday, a South Carolina man was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs in the Town of Gerry.
Around 10:45 p.m. deputies observed a vehicle northbound on Route 60 in the Town of Gerry swerve over the center line. The suspect vehicle was stopped for the observed violation. Steven Ables, 23, of Walhalla, S.C., was found to be the operator. Further investigation found his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired due to the use of prescription medication. Ables was issued traffic tickets and is to appear in Gerry court at a later date.
HARMONY On Wednesday, an Ashville youth was charged with possession of stolen property.
Around 3:30 p.m., a youth was found in possession of a stolen Apple iPod from Panama Central School. The youth was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Harmony Court at a later date.
