The Viking ship "Hjemkomst" will make its only stop on Lake Erie between Detroit and Buffalo in Dunkirk. With a captain and crew of 12, the ship was built in Minnesota and is heading for Norway. The sailing vessel, which has no auxiliary power, will be towed into the Dunkirk harbor and to the dock by the Sheriff's department rescue boat.

The Lake Shore Road Runners, a social group for men and women motorcycle enthusiasts, is being organized in the Dunkirk-Fredonia area. Richard Butler of Dunkirk has been elected president.
