Applause for Helen and Steve Baran of Westfield, who have joined select company. The couple was named as the George B. Weaver Jr. Footprints Award recipients at this week's annual meeting of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation.
Both have a lengthy resume of service to their community. Steve Baran's work includes being active in the Growers Cooperative Juice Company, Inc., chairman of the Chautauqua County Farmland Protection Board while also serving on the Cornell Cooperative Extension Chautauqua County board of directors.
His wife serves on the board of trustees at Westfield Memorial Hospital, is a board of trustees member for Saint Vincent Health System and a board of directors member and past chair of the Chautauqua County Health Network. The couple also has a history of serving with the Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club.
In accepting the award, the couple joins an impressive list of past winners, which includes: George B. Weaver Jr., Dr. Dallas Beal, Dr. Robert Maytum, Jim and Carol Boltz, the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation's first board of directors and incorporators, Dr. Donald Eno, Richard Johnson, Edwin Hamlet, Doug and Ann Manly and Richard Anson.
As we said, the list of award winners are select company - and all are true leaders of our community.
