Twenty years ago - 1992

Lynne Ruch of Westfield was recently crowned the 1992 Chautauqua County Dairy Princess, a title she will share with Jennifer Beightol of Falconer. Lynne is the daughter of Jack and Cathy Ruch and a junior at Westfield Academy and Central School. She is active in band, chorus, National Honor Society and 4-H. Her parents operate a Jersey dairy farm on North Gale Street, Westfield.

Thirty years ago - 1982

In an OBSERVER photo, 7-year-old Lori Rozen and her 4-year-old brother Jimmy hold the 20-pound carp Lori caught at the foot of Armadillo Street in Dunkirk using a worm. The 34-inch monster took 20 minutes to land, with Lori's dad, Joseph Rozen of 149 Ocelot St., Dunkirk finishing the job. A scale from the fish taken to the Dunkirk Fisheries Station was aged at over 10 years.

Forty years ago - 1972

Russell Anthony Trusso, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Trusso, 93 Eagle St., Fredonia has received his doctor of osteopathy (DO) degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Fifty years ago - 1962

Brenda Brimmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brimmer of Ward Avenue, Silver Creek is co-author of the book "United Nations Documents."
