LATHAM - Major General Patrick A. Murphy, the adjutant general, announces the recent reenlistment of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their continuing commitment to serve community, state and nation as part of the Army National Guard.
Specialist Zebadiah Mientkiewicz of Dunkirk has reenlisted to continue service with the Troop B, 2-101 Cavalry (Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition).
Murphy has also announced the promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capabilities for additional responsibility and leadership. The following local soldiers have been promoted:
Jonathon Johnson of Dunkirk and serving with the 152nd Engineer Support Company is promoted to the rank of sergeant.
Kyle Ortel of Forestville and serving with the Company A (Engineer), 27th Brigade Special Troops Battalion is promoted to the rank of specialist.
Daniel Rothwell of Mayville and serving with the Company A (Distribution), 427th Brigade Support Battalion is promoted to the rank of specialist.
John Kawski of Cherry Creek and serving with the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2-101 Cavalry (Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition is promoted to the rank of private first class.
Colin Boice of Fredonia and serving with the Troop B, 2-101 Cavalry (Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition) is promoted to the rank of specialist.
