On May 5, 2012, the Harvard University Epworth United Methodist Church in Cambridge, Mass., was the setting for the marriage of Christopher Shen and Patricia Metzger. Metzger is the daughter of John and Judy Metzger of Fredonia, and Shen is the son of Ty and Linda Shen of South Boston, Mass.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Paula Fletcher. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Royal Sonesta Hotel along the banks of the Charles River in Cambridge. Guests enjoyed a wonderful view of the Boston skyline and the Charles River, as well as the "super moon" rising above the skyline.
The bride's attendants were Amy Bonner, Kathryn Audette, Katie Kennedy, Vanessa Aluia and Emily Britt, all of the Boston area and Stacie (Peters) Bauer of Silver Creek. The groomsmen were Mark Lufkin of New Haven, Conn.; Alex Haughton of Los Angeles, Calif.; Bill Toussaint of South Boston, Mass.; Christian Roberts of Sydney, Australia; Brandt Coulas of Atlanta, Ga.; and Eric Jesner of Spartansburg, S.C.

Ushers included the groom's brothers-in-law and the brother of the bride. The nephew of the groom handled the ring bearer duties.
Outside of Boston, guests traveled from Western New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Colorado, Arizona, California and Australia.
The bride is employed as a Clinical Program Manager by Friends of the Children in Boston. The groom is employed as a Guidance Counselor at the Webster, Mass., school district.
Mrs. Shen graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston College and received her master's degree from Salem State College. Mr. Shen graduated from Dennison University and received his master's degree from the University of Massachusetts.
The couple shared a short, post-wedding trip to Nantucket and will enjoy a honeymoon cruise to Bermuda in July. They will reside in South Boston, Mass.
