Ashlie M. Flanigan, of Machias, a Senior Accountant with Buffamante Whipple Buttafaro, P.C., recently became licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York.
To obtain this license, Flanigan passed the Uniform Certified Public Accounting Examination, which consists of a four-part, 16-hour exam covering the areas of financial accounting and reporting, auditing and attestation, business environments and regulation. Candidates for the CPA designation must satisfy extensive educational requirements from an accredited institution and fulfill stringent experience requirements.
