Dunkirk native featured in ‘Online Seller’ magazine

June 27, 2012
The OBSERVER

Dunkirk native, Arlene (Schrantz) DeJesus, member of the Dunkirk High School class of 1969, was chosen out of millions of online sellers across the nation to be showcased in the March 2012 edition of the Online Seller.

DeJesus was featured in an article entitled "Pretty in Paper" by Olga Munoz, which detailed how she developed her childhood passion for vintage paper dolls into an online business venture on eBay, where she is known as "nutz4paperdollz."

DeJesus said she wanted to "share the joys of paper dolls with the world" and began to sell them on eBay 10 years ago for extra income after experiencing health troubles.

She has been a fan of the dolls since her childhood in Dunkirk.

"Our mom and dad gave (me and my sisters) a dime or quarter to spend at the local five and dime after church each week," she recalled.

"There was really no decision to make. As soon as we hit the door, the beeline was right to the paper doll and coloring book stand,"she added.

Her collection is also listed at Nuts4PaperDolls.com.
