BROCTON - Girl Scouts of Western New York Troop 20025 in Brocton held their annual Court of Awards Ceremony on June 13. The dainty, dainty Daisies earned all of their petals as they completed the It's Your Planet Love It, Between Earth and Sky Journey. As the Daisies took their journey they learned the values of the Girl Scout Law and how to make their world a better place! The Brownie Girl Scouts celebrated that they successfully completed the It's Your Planet Love It, Wonders of Water Journey where they learned all about water and how to conserve it. However, that's not all these Brownies accomplished this year. Several of the Girl Scouts completed additional badge work: First Aid, Girl Scout Way, Senses, Fair Play, Hiker, Philanthropist and World Thinking Day badges. The Junior Girl Scouts got moving making and conserving energy while completing It's Your Planet Love It, Get Moving Journey! These jazzy, jazzy Juniors also completed badge work for First Aid, Girl Scout Way, Digital Photography, Independence, Social Butterfly, Camper and World Thinking Day badges.
The Girl Scouts from Troop 20025 have had a very busy and successful year with much to be proud of. Several of the Girl Scouts attended other programs throughout the year such as Through the Horse's Eyes, the Month of the Young Child at Ahira Hall Memorial Library, the Village of Brocton Water Treatment Plant, Flag Education with veterans, first aid training from EMTs and fire fighters and camping in the fall, winter and spring.
The Girl Scouts made the event even more special by presenting their Leaders (Melissa Seavy, Julie Devlin and Julie Krauter) with an expression of thanks on the Why I Love My Leader wall. Some of the girls drew pictures and others wrote a special poem or a letter. One Girl Scout said they love their Leader because she is always on time. Another had a catchy little poem about how busy their Leader keeps them and said, "While we are camping you always keep us panting." Others were simple thanks for the great field trips. Each one of these tokens of appreciation will be cherished for years to come because just as the Girl Scouts appreciate the Leaders, it's the Leaders that appreciate the girls for being who they are and for making such incredible memories with us, memories that will last us all a lifetime!
