June 28, 2012
The OBSERVER

The Kachelmeyer family thanks supporters of the recent Sunset Bay Bikers Beach Bash. The event was held on June 23 to benefit the seven children left behind when Stephen Kachelmeyer passed away on Nov. 6, 2011.

Tim Kachelmeyer, a state police officer, Stephen's brother and one of the organizers of the event, said, "It's overwhelming the amount of community support we received."

There were a number of businesses which contributed to the event including Kix Country and WDOE radio, Blasdell Pizza, Gowanda Harley-Davidson, the Sunset Bay Beach Club, and Willow Creek Winery. Many others contributed to the silent auction.

Three billboards advertised the Sunset Bay Bikers Beach Bash. This one is located on Route 60 near Laona. The event raised money for the Kachelmeyer children’s fund.

The event was well-attended by the public.

"There are so many good caring people in this community," said Kachelmeyer.
