After a wet and dreary day, the sun came out just in time to greet fans in Barker Common who came to see the Rustic Ramblers Wednesday evening.
The show kicked off the 2012 Gazebo Summer Concert Series sponsored by the village of Fredonia. Despite poor weather earlier in the day, turnout was solid and included many residents of Fredonia Place.
Not all of the concert-goers were local, however. Holly Lawrence was visiting from St. Lawrence County with a friend from Florida.

"My friend and I are on a road trip. We went to see Dr. Wayne Dyer in Toronto. We heard about Lily Dale and then we came to Fredonia to wander around," Lawrence said.
"My friend is just so enchanted with the downtown area. It feels so authentic and beautiful. We're going to have dinner at one of the restaurants after the show," Lawrence continued. "I love this town square. How often do you see a place like this anymore?"
Local resident Pat Rager said she attends several of the shows each year. "I was going to meet my mom down here but she decided not to come," Rager said, who stayed to enjoy the show.

Gazebo summer concert series
Fredonia's 2012 Gazebo Summer Concert Series will take place 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays in Barker Common, with the exception of the July 6 date, which is a Friday. The line-up is as follows:

The next concert is set for Friday July 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. featuring the Dave Yuen Show. The rest of the series will return to Wednesday evenings, starting with the July 11 show with Steve, Charity and Amanda of Big Leg Emma. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for greater comfort.
