When Peter G. Nixon succeeded Stephen G. Stratton, DDS, as president of the Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club today, the event was unprecedented in the history of the 53-year-old club and rare in the annals of Rotary International. With acceptance of the president's gavel from Dr. Statton, Mr. Nixon became the third-generation member of his immediate family to serve as president of Rotary Club 3160 in International District 709, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.

Allen W. Fross of Portland, Black Belt Kung Fu, has returned from Pittsburgh where he attended the first master's invitational karate tournament and the ceremonies for the signing of the charter to establish the first branch of the Sharin-Ryu Karate Federation in the United States.

Carl O. Olson Jr. of Ferndale, Mich, has been named principal of the Fredonia Central School District elementary schools. He replaces Rocco Doino, who has been acting principal this past year.
