A trio of homegrown artists - two authors and a vocalist - will be signing their works today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Book Nook in the Dunkirk-Fredonia plaza. A share of the proceeds from the sales will be donated to Northern Chautauqua Catholic School.
Frank Zaccari and Mark Balzer are the authors. Zaccari's latest book is "Inside the Spaghetti Bowl." Based on the experience of his mother's death, the book is set in Dunkirk where he grew up. According to information supplied by Zaccari, "The book is about family and unconditional love through the good times and the bad."
Balzer's book, also set in Dunkirk is described as "a leadership fable that follows a recent college hire's trials and tribulations as he enters the workforce as a supervisor at a third party distribution company." The book tries to illustrate the difference between being a manager and a leader.

Tanya Diona is the vocalist. Her latest CD is "Nothing to Prove ... Something to Say." Information about the CD says, "The music features solid writing and powerhouse vocals that deliver an emotional punch in a highly musical, groove-driven r&b and funk style with a modern-pop sensibility."
Diona and Zaccari are cousins. Their families still live in the area. Mary Beth Dolce who teaches at NCCS is their aunt, and mayor A.J. Dolce, who taught at NCCS is their cousin.
Mark Balzer is a longtime friend of the cousins. "We all grew up together," said Zaccari.
Fliers were given to the students at NCCS, and the three are hoping for a good turnout to support the school.
"We wanted to give back to the community," said Zaccari.
