SILVER CREEK - Vito A. Botticello, 62, of Adams Street passed away Wednesday (June 27, 2012) at his residence. Born in Silver Creek, N.Y. on March 16, 1949,

the son of Michael and Nina (Genovese) Botticello. He graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1967. Vito continued his education at Morrisville

Community College, earning an associate's degree in food technology in 1970. Vito was employed by the village of Silver Creek in the water and sewer department as a licensed operator, retiring with over 20 years of service. He also worked as a mechanic at Shevlins Garage in Silver Creek. His interests included antique restoring, hunting, fishing and he loved to cook. Vito was an accomplished bowler and golfer. played ball in the Old Timers League. Recently, Kathleen and Vito bought a camper and had a good time outdoors. Vito belonged to the Silver Creek American Legion Post #897, where he served as a commander, Mt. Carmel Social Club, the Silver Creek Fire Department, the Hanover Fish and Game Club, Dunkirk

Moose Club, also various other social clubs in the Dunkirk area and an honorary member of the Huntley Hose Co. Vito is survived by his mother, Nina Botticello of

Silver Creek; his wife, Kathleen (Kessler) Botticello, whom he married August 17, 1996; a daughter, Shaun M. (Scott) Dahn of Manassas, Va.; a stepson,

Scott M. Pienta of Dunkirk; a stepdaughter, Margaret A. Pienta of Silver Creek; a sister, Nance B. Ortolano of Fredonia; two nieces; two great nieces;

one great nephew and his faithful furry companion "Tyrone." He was preceded in death by his father and a grandson, Matthew Pienta. There will be no public

visitation observed. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, Silver Creek, N.Y.
