Mary Ann Polowy, 87, of Mt. Doral, Florida passed away on Thursday (June 28, 2012) after complications from surgery. She had lived in Dunkirk for most of her life until moving to Florida in 2005.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary (John) Powell, of Grand Island Florida; six grandchildren: Michael Sobkowski, Lori Rodriguez, Jennifer Mahon, Amy Farrell, Melinda Hill and Jeff Polowy; twelve great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband John "Jake" Polowy, son John Richard, and daughter Suzanne. She was the last survivor of the family of Nellie and Alfred Fellinger. She was also predeceased by brothers Robert, Paul, Edwin, Thomas, Richard and Raymond; sisters, Helen Wisniewski, Eleanor Palmer, Rita Fellinger, and Harriet Elias.
Arrangements are pending. There will be a service at St. Hyacinth's Church, at a date to be announced.
