It is arguably the world's toughest and most famous truck, and it is now on its way to Dunkirk. BIGFOOT, the legendary perennial champion of monster truck racing, will be at Valley Tire Company on Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14 as part of the Valley Tire annual tent sale.
Riding on Firestone Agricultural Flotation 23 Deep Tread tires, more than five and one-half feet tall and 43 inches wide and powered by a 1,500 horsepower, fuel-injected, super charged 572 cubic inch engine, the BIGFOOT truck has leapt into automotive history by leaping over everything from a dozen cars to a jet airliner. Standing nearly 11 feet tall, it has won the prestigious monster truck racing series championship an amazing 12 times, more than all other competitors combined.
"In the past decade, BIGFOOT has appeared at thousands of races and special events," said Phil Pacsi, Bridgestone/Firestone Consumer Tires marketing manager. "While it attracts fans of all ages, it is particularly appealing to children, who love the roar of its engine, its size and its ability to jump over just about anything."
It is also appealing to adults, particularly those who appreciate its incredible engineering. To generate the power required for jumps and to land in control, the four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering vehicle is literally hand made from specialized components. The creators of BIGFOOT, Bob and Marilyn Chandler of St. Louis, have spent much of the past 28 years refining it and making it even more impressive.
"BIGFOOT is a modern automotive marvel," said Pacsi. "While it is one thing to see it perform on television, it's an entirely different experience to see it up close and to walk under it and look into the driver's compartment, which resembles the cockpit of a jet fighter."
The tour is now bringing BIGFOOT to Dunkirk. This impressive monster truck is set to be on display at Valley Tire Company, 47 Lake Shore Dr. West, during the annual tent sale.
