SILVER CREEK - Kenneth M. Steklasa, 46, of Angell Road passed away unexpectedly Sunday (July 8, 2012) in the Emergency Room of the Lake Shore Health Care Center (Town of Hanover).
Born October 17, 1965 in Gowanda, he was the son of Kenneth J. and Rita(Varndell) Steklasa.
A United States Air Force Veteran, Ken served his country for four years before being honorably discharged.

Ken was a 1983 Graduate of Gowanda Central School.
A laser operator, he was employed with McHones of Salamanca. Ken was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church Gowanda and past member of the Gowanda Vol. Fire Dept.
Survivors include his wife, the former Margaret "Marge" Ross, whom he married in Gowanda on August 22, 2009; two sons, Daniel Steklasa of Las Vegas Nev., and Kenneth W. Steklasa at home in Silver Creek N.Y.; his mother and stepfather Rita (Melvin) Wolfe of Little River S.C; brother Steven (Kimberly) Steklasa of Silver Creek; and sister Mrs. Robert (Charlayne) Sutton of Jen-kintown Pa.; Godparents Dave and Marge Wilcox of Springville; stepchildren: Carl Racinowski of Mass., Michael O'Connor of Silver Creek, and Jennifer Racinowski of Hamburg; nephews and nieces: Tyler Steklasa, McKenna Steklasa and Robert Paul Sutton; his mother-in-law Maria Ross of Silver Creek, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Kenneth J. Steklasa (Aug. 21, 2009) and a baby brother Michael Steklasa (Dec. 26, 1967).
Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St. Gowanda (716)-532-4200 (Mark A. Schindler director) from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (July 11, 2012). Funeral Services will be held Thursday (July 12, 2012) at 10 a.m. with full military honors at the St. Joseph's R.C. Church 90 East Main St. Gowanda where a mass of Christian Burial will take place. (Gather at church). Interment to follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Gowanda.
