Man charged with DWI accused of BAC nearly three-times legal limit

EDEN - On Saturday, New York State Police based out of the Boston barracks charged Seldon S. Brown III, 44, of Collins with aggravated driving while intoxicated.

Shortly before 11:00 p.m., Troopers stopped a vehicle on Hardt Road for swerving onto the shoulder of the road two times. Brown, the driver of the vehicle,was reportedly intoxicated. He was processed at the barracks in Boston where his blood alcohol content was reported at .23 percent. New York requires one's BAC to be below .08 percent.

He will return to the Town of Boston Court at a later date to answer the charges.

Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office

HANOVER On June 30, an Angola woman was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated and crossing a hazard marking in the town of Hanover.

Around 1:45 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Tammi M. Thompson, 39, of Angola, for crossing the hazard line on Route 5 and 20 in the town of Hanover several times. Upon investigation, Thompson was placed in custody for DWI, then released with appearance tickets for Hanover Town Court at a later date.

MAYVILLE On June 30, a Mayville man was charged with two counts of DWI and failure to keep right in the village of Mayville.

Around 2:30 a.m., deputies observed a vehicle driven by Shaibu Alfa, 38, of Mayville, cross the solid center line on Morris Street. The vehicle was stopped a short time later after it turned onto Valley Street. Alfa was found to be the operator and was issued appearance tickets for the Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.

CHARLOTTE On June 30, a Sinclairville man was charged with two counts of DWI, failure to obey stop sign and improper right turn at intersection in the town of Charlotte.

Around 2 a.m., deputies observed a vehicle eastbound on High Street pass through a stop sign and turn wide right onto Barnum Road, going off the paved roadway onto the wrong side of the road.

The vehicle was stopped and the operator identified as Robert A. Bruyer, 26, of Sinclairville.

Bruyer was issued appearance tickets for the Charlotte Town Court at a later date.

State Police at Fredonia

SHERIDAN - On Tuesday, Dustin Krull, 26, of Lakeview was charged with unlawfully dealing with fireworks.

Krull was stopped on Route 20 for a reportedly speeding. It was reported that Krull possessed over $600 worth of assorted fireworks which were purchased from a business in Northeast, Pa. Because of the high value of the fireworks, the charged was classified as an "A" misdemeanor.

Krull was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Sheridan Town Court on July 12.
