SINCLAIRVILLE - The Sinclairville Free Library announces that local author William Fleeman will speak at the library today and present his first novel, "The Plot to Kill Susan B. Anthony." Fleeman is the author of three nonfiction books: "The Pathways to Peace Anger Management Workbook," "Pathways to Sobriety Workbook," and "Managing Teen Anger and Violence."
His first novel is a historical mystery. The year is 1891, a time of tremendous social unrest. When it is discovered that a plot is in the works to kill the most visible face of the Suffragette movement, the chase is on to find out who is behind the threat and prevent it. As Anthony embarks on a speaking tour of New York state, death threats greet the detectives at every stop. Filled with historically accurate details, the action begins in New York City and builds up to a climax in the Spiritualist community of Lily Dale.
This program is free and open to the public and is part of the library's Adult Summer Reading Program. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing by the author. The library is located at 15 Main St. in Sinclairville. For information about library programs and events, call 962-5885 or visit the library's website at www.cclslib.org/sinclairville.
