Forestville Fire

Dept. Fundraiser

A team of local co-ed alumni will play the Forestville Fire Dept.'s co-ed softball team on Sunday, July 15, at 5 p.m., at the American Legion Field.

Forestville graduate Jack Szydlo will umpire the contest, which the public is invited to attend. Refreshments will be available.

Charity Softball Game

The Forestville sports club will host a charity softball game today at the Forestville Elementary Field.

The Babe Ruth 14U girls will play the Little League 14-year-old boys in a softball game. The event starts at 4 p.m. with a prize auction, a 50/50 drawing and a food stand.

The game will start at 5 p.m., and will be followed by a home run hitting competition for the players and adults. All proceeds will go directly to the Kaicher Family College Fund.

Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride

The 29th Annual Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, originating and finishing in front of Eason Hall, 23 Elm St., Westfield.

The mass start begins at 9 am. Water and refreshment stops and sag wagon services are provided. Helmets are required. Recreational tours of courses of 25, 40, 62, 75 and 100 miles are offered, with a meal at the finish. Entries postmarked by July 20 are $18 and include a T-shirt while entries after July 20 and the day of the ride are $20 and receive a Tour of Chautauqua water bottle. 2012 Men's Adult Basketball League

All teams interested in participating in the Dunkirk Recreation Men's Adult Basketball League, sponsored by the Dunkirk Recreation Department, should contact the Recreation Office at 366-9879 to register their team.

Should there be enough interest in filling a league, a meeting will be scheduled regarding league fees, rules and a starting date. The league is open to all area teams. Games will be played at the Wright Park basketball courts.

The Women?Who Golf For Fun

The women will golf again next Wednesday, gathering at 8:30 a.m., teeing off at 9 a.m. The event will be followed by their monthly luncheon. Those who can not golf, but would like to join them should be at the White Village at noon.

In case of inclement weather, the women will meet at the clubhouse and then go directly to the White Village.
