Masonic Safety I.D. Program offered for free

July 18, 2012
The OBSERVER

The Masons of Chautauqua County and New York State will provide a free public service to the community July 23 through 29. The Masonic Safety I.D. Program will be held at the Chautauqua County Fair from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the commercial building.

Adults and children under 17 with parent approval are invited to participate in this program, wherein medical history, pictures and fingerprints are put on a CD-ROM. When given to the police, this information can be downloaded into police car computers and transmitted it to other police agencies or to Amber alert. Law enforcement agencies welcome any assistance they can get in the search and recovery of lost or missing children or adults.

The CD-ROM with the child's information becomes the property of and remains under the control of the parent or guardian of that child. The Masons keep no records; permission of parent or guardian is required.
