EVANS - A man lost his life at the railroad crossing in Evans Wednesday.
According to a news release, the town of Evans Police Department received a 911 call at 1:22 p.m. with a report of a male struck by a train at the Eden-Evans Center railroad tracks.
Upon arriving at the scene police and EMS workers found the body of a white male who had been hit by a CSX train traveling westbound. The victim was laying on the south side of the tracks and had obvious signs of death.
The incident is still under investigation by the Evans Police Accident Investigation unit. The identity of the victim was withheld until the next of kin could be notified.
