Annual Corn Feast today

The Camp Gross Foundation will host the Annual Corn Feast today at Camp Gross, 8175 Route 60, Cassadaga. Tours of the camp will begin at 4 p.m. and dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Please bring plates, table service and a dish to pass. Corn and hot dogs will be provided. All are welcome.

Laona Playground Days extended

The Fredonia-Pomfret Recreation Department would like to extend the hours of Laona playground for two more weeks. A growing interest in the community is allowing the department to keep the park open for residents of the town of Pomfret and village of Fredonia.

The park will continue to be open between the hours of 1-5 p.m. until Aug. 3, which will be the final day the playground will be staffed. Children that are dropped off will be under the supervision of Fredonia-Pomfret playground recreation attendants. Crafts and games will be provided.

Garden walk set for city

The third Dunkirk Delights garden walk is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

This free event will take you to 15 self-selected gardens throughout the city. Each yard will have a yellow sign designating if the garden is in the front, along the side or in the back. Maps and garden walk brochures, compliments of the Dunkirk Development Office, are available at the Dunkirk library, City Hall and, Saturday only, under the white canopy at the Boardwalk.

T-shirts will be available with proceeds going toward planning of next year's tour.

Festival of Grapes Pageant Committee to meet Wednesday

The Festival of Grapes Pageant Committee will hold a sign up/informational meeting Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Silver Creek High School auditorium. All area girls ages 7 to 18 are welcome to enter the 'Rocking through the Ages' themed pageant set for Sept. 9. It is not too late to enter. All interested should attend the meeting Wednesday.

Silver Creek Duck race to be held July 28

The Silver Creek Festival of Grapes Committee will hold a rubber duck race fundraiser Saturday, July 28 at 10 a.m. Children and adults are welcome to participate. Don't be caught up the creek without a duck, which will be sold at Just Pets in Irving until the day of the race. Proceeds go to benefit the Festival of Grapes.
