BROCTON - The Brocton Teachers' Association announces Students of the Month for May.
The middle school honoree is seventh-grader Paul Malkiewicz, son of Joell Malkiewicz and Joe Dunn of Portland. Paul is a merit roll student and his favorite subject is Social Studies. Outside of class he cuts grass and enjoys playing with his sister and riding his bike. In the future, he would like to be a team player for the New York Yankees. Paul would like to thank Mrs. Fabiano for teaching him.
The high school honoree is Casey Miller, son of Amy Miller of Portland, a member of the Class of 2012. Miller is an avid sports player; he participated in varsity basketball grade nine through 12, varsity basketball 11-12 grade, varsity football 11-12 grade. In addition to his sports, Miller was involved in the Sources of Strength program, tri-editor of the Brocton Review and a member of the National Honor Society.

Miller also performs community service. He has volunteered for the Joyce Kozlowski Memorial 5K run, set up the American Legion for the Moving Wall and helped in restoring the Little League field.
Miller plans to attend Jamestown Community College in the fall majoring in liberal arts and Sciences. He then plans to transfer to a four-year college to become a teacher. Miller was very thankful to have received the student of the month honor and extended his thanks to all of his teachers for helping him reach his potential, and his family for keeping him confident.
