Melvin F. Sullivan, 84, of Fredonia, NY died Saturday evening (July 28, 2012) at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk after a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 25, 1927 in Fredonia, the son of the late Walter and Mildred (Francis) Sullivan.
A lifelong resident of Fredonia, Mr. Sullivan graduated from Fredonia High School and SUNY Fredonia.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1947.
Mel was employed by Fredonia Seed Company, Welch Foods Inc., and was self employed for the remainder of his career.
An avid organ player, Mel enjoyed playing for family and friends. He also en-joyed playing golf.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine (Kaiser) Sullivan; his daughter, Debra (Rick) Hill of Los Angeles, CA; and his brother, James (Jan) Sullivan of Fredonia.
Family and friends are welcome to call Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Services will be private. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
