August 1, 2012
The OBSERVER

At 10:30 a.m. this Saturday, Sarah Sorci of Chautauqua County Rural Ministry will give a free workshop at the Fredonia Farmers' Market called "Natural Summer Remedies." The workshop will discuss some of the reasons to avoid the chemicals commonly found in bug spray, sunblock and weed killers. Participants will also learn some simple recipes for natural bug spray as well as natural weed-killing tips. This workshop is free and open to the public.

Visitors to the Fredonia Farmers' Market this Saturday may also enjoy samples from the market's food vendors. Many of the market's vendors will have a dish made with items that they have grown or produced. Samples will only be available until they are gone.

Vendors at the Fredonia Farmers' Market sell fresh produce, humanely raised meats, honey, maple products, free range eggs, goat milk products, bread and baked goods, fresh flowers, knit wear, beach glass jewelry, candles, and more. SNAP benefits accepted for approved food items. The market is held Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Church Street.

For more information, call 640-5401, email h.frame@yahoo.com, or visit the market's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/fredoniafarmersmarket.
