Richard L. "Dick" Carmen, 68, of Fredonia died June 30, 2012 at Brooks Memorial Hospital.
He was born on August 28, 1943 in Buffalo, the son of the late Leo and Louise (Valone) Carmen
He was a retired employee of Nestle Purina.Dick was an avid car enthusiast; he enjoyed and owned many classic and hot rods. He was a founding member of Lake Shore Street Rods, founded in 1972, where he was a past president for many years.

He was a representative for Right Coast Car Association, representative for Syracuse Nationals and also a member of the National Street Rod Association.
Surviving are several children, other family, many friends; his companion, Barb Pieszak of Dunkirk; and his faithful K-9 companion, Spanky.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc., 56 East Doughty St. in Dunkirk on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9. Prayer services will be led by Rev. Walter Werbicki at 8 p.m.
