A highlight of the recent Chautauqua County Fair was "Big Red," who stole the show as Chet Kozlowski and the Cavaliers entertained a capacity crowd from the mini-stage at the Dunkirk Fairgrounds. "Big Red," a horse used by the Chautauqua County Mounted Sheriffs Division, decided he wanted to dance and there was nothing his partner, Deputy Peter James, could do but dance with him. And dance they did, each step appreciated by the crowd, including the band members. The tune was "Blue Suede Shoes."

Forty years ago - 1972
