Around 10:10 p.m., deputies and the Hartfield and Mayville Fire departments responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Stockton-Hartfield Road in the Town of Chautauqua.
Following the investigation, deputies allege that Todd A. Dellahoy, 40, of Erie, Pa., was traveling northeast at an unreasonable speed and went off the shoulder of the roadway. Investigation shows the vehicle was brought back onto the roadway before sliding out of control and striking a utility pole on the opposite side of the road.
Dellahoy was flown to UPMC Hamot by Starflight Helicopter. At the time of this report, Dellahoy was admitted to the ICU at Hamot in stable condition. Deputies will be filing charges against Dellahoy for DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, speed not reasonable, fail to stay in lane, and fail to keep right and unlawful possession of marijuana. He will answer the charges in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.
Around 1:25 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Chad H. Blakely, 27, of Forestville, for avoiding an intersection on Kuhrt Road and King Road in the Town of Sheridan.
Upon investigation, Blakely was placed into custody for DWI. Blakely refused the roadside pre-screen test and was charged with DWI, refusal to take a breath test and avoiding intersection or traffic control device. Blakely was later released with tickets to appear in he Town of Sheridan Court at a later date.
Around 7:35 p.m., a white 1998 Volkswagen was observed parked partially in the westbound driving lane on the north side of Route 5, facing west at the end of Lake Avenue in Portland with the hazard lights on.
As a deputy turned on his emergency lights to investigate the problem, the driver of the vehicle, Jerry S. Bentham, 30, of Brocton, drove his vehicle across Route 5 onto Lake Avenue where he stopped.
After a brief investigation, Bentham was charged with DWI, DWI per se .08 percent or higher blood alcohol content and parking on the pavement and will appear in the Town of Portland Court at a later date.
