Four churches to present ‘Babylon’ VBS

August 11, 2012
The OBSERVER

Four local churches - Christ Community Church in Fredonia, Fredonia First United Methodist Church, First United Presbyterian Church of Dunkirk, and Christian Worship Center in Fredonia are teaming up to present the most exciting Vacation Bible School program of the summer.

This year's VBS is entitled "Babylon - Daniel's Courage in Captivity" and will take place Aug. 20-24 from 9 a.m. to noon at Christ Community Church, 219 Berry St., Fredonia.

At Babylon, children will travel back into Bible times to see what life was like for Daniel. Children will participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, dig into yummy treats, experience Bible adventures to remind them that God is always with them, and create Bible point crafts they'll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, children will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings.

Each day concludes with a celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they've learned. Family members and friends are encouraged to join in daily for this special time at 11:40 a.m.

Friday at 6 p.m. will be a dinner for children, family and friends. After the dinner will be a short closing presentation for everyone to see what the children have done all week.

Babylon is for children from 3 years old to those leaving fifth grade. For more information, call Christ Community Church at 673-1661 or call Angie Bacon at 595-2945. To pre-register, visit www.cccfredonia.org and follow the VBS link. Pre-registration is appreciated but not required.
