Fredonia roads to be finished
The Village of Fredonia has announced residents on Holmes Place will have all new water lines connected and the road restored by mid-late September or sooner.
Village Trustee Joseph Cerrie said the streets department and the contractor continue to replace old connections with new lines for water service and milling and paving should begin by the end of August, to be finished by mid- to late-September, weather permitting. Milling and paving will also take place on Orchard Street around that time to repair the road from construction conducted over the last few years, according to Cerrie.
Leg. Mills, library directors thank community
Erie County Legislator John J. Mills is pleased to announce that his 6th annual Hot Dog Roast Fundraisers at Collins and Concord libraries were huge successes, surpassing the amount raised in 2011. Mills presented the donations to the library directors on Aug. 6.
Legislator Mills was pleased to present a $1,410 donation to Concord Library Director Annette Gernatt during a presentation held at the library. Supervisor Gary Eppolito, who joined volunteers in the rain during the fundraiser on July 19, was also in attendance.
Legislator Mills also noted the impressive fundraiser held at the Collins Library on July 14. A $1,070 donation was presented to Library Director Karen McClure.
Using a portion of his salary, Legislator Mills purchases the necessary materials for the Hot Dog Roast Fundraisers and then donates 100 percent of the proceeds to the host library. To date, he has raised more than $25,000 for the libraries in his district. In addition to the volunteers and supporters, Legislator Mills wishes to recognize the support of Sahlen's for providing their grill for the roasts.
