.....Julie Rozen has returned to South Dakota after spending two weeks at home with her family and friends.

She is currently a student at the University of Mining and Technology in Rapid City, where she is pursuing a master's degree in paleantology.

A 2007 graduate of Dunkirk High School, and a 2010 graduate of Pittsburgh University, Julie is the daughter of Joe and Janet Rozen of Dunkirk.....

.....The following students received academic honors from the Harpur College of Arts and Sciences at Binghamton University by making the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester: Kelly D. Hyde of Silver Creek and Brian M. Kirschler of Fredonia.....

.....The following local residents graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in the spring 2012 quarter. Joseph Fabritius of Sinclairville earned a bachelor of science degree in physics. Matthew Robbins of Brocton earned a bachelor of science degree in biotechnology. William Wells of Dunkirk earned a master of science degree in manufacturing and mechanical systems integration.....A son, Maxx Amilio Sanchez, was born on July 14, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo to Manuel Sanchez and Stephanie Accardo of Dunkirk. Maxx is at home with his big brother, Manny Rey Sanchez.....

.....Courtney Mierzwa, a Dunkirk High School alumna, was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at Balwin-Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, with a GPA of 3.8. Mierzwa, an art history major with a minor in entrepreneurship, will be starting her senior year in the fall. She is the daughter of Barbara Mierzwa of Dunkirk.....
