of haunted history

Gas prices rise
Average retail gasoline prices in Rochester have risen 7.1 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.76/g Sunday.
This compares with the national average that has increased 5.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.67/g, according to gasoline price website RochesterGasPrices.com.
Cassadaga Job Corps will host tour and informational meeting
A tour and informational session will be held at the Cassadaga Job Corps Academy, 8115 Glasgow Road, Cassadaga, on Thursday at 10 a.m.
Anyone interested in learning more about Job Corps, the programs they offer and about life on campus is welcome to attend. Job Corps provides young people, age 16-24, with career technical training and the education needed to enter a career in a high demand occupation. Applicants must meet federal admissions criteria for income and readiness. All students accepted attend Job Corps on a full scholarship and must remain committed to a rigorous education and training program to remain enrolled.
Cassadaga Job Corps offers training in the healthcare and construction industries and enrolls both residential and non-residential students. Lakeshore Humane Society holds Annual Giant Yard Sale
The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold its annual Giant Yard Sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Floral Hall at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds, Central Avenue in Dunkirk. Hot dogs will be sold both days from noon to 3 p.m. There will also be a bake sale, and raffles for a television, chaise lounge and a variety of baskets.
The event is to help the many orphaned animals looking for permanent, loving homes.
Items to be contributed to the yard sale can be dropped off at Floral Hall today through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (No clothing, large appliances, metal bed springs, encyclopedias, magazines, or electronics such as TVs, computer monitors, towers, and printers).
